Scope of work (as filed)
The public areas of Moss Park station entrance have a glazed facade which is provided for the full extent of the east and south facade and on a portion of the west and north facades. The glazed facade in public areas of entrance does not provide a fire resistance rating. The available limiting distance for the public area fire compartments on east and north do not permit 100% unprotected openings. When the proposed design differs from the acceptable solutions of the OBC, compliance is permitted to be achieved by using alternative solutions that will reach the level of performance required by the applicable acceptable solutions, as permitted by OBC division A, Clause 1.2.1.1.(1)(b). OBC provides specific Objective and Functional statements relative to complying with the Sentence 3.2.3.1.(1) of the Code.An alternative solution approach to building code compliance is proposed relative to the 2012 Ontario Building Code for the apatial separation and exposure protection requirements in the Moss Park rapid transit station.
